Chalker dribblers wow KSU basketball crowd
KENNESAW, Ga. -- The Chalker Elementary School Dribbling Team had fans cheering during the halftime show at Kennesaw State University Men’s basketball game Saturday, at the university’s Convocation Center.
The 23 students from grades 3-5 under the direction of coach and third-grade teacher, Anna Boney, demonstrated ball handling and shooting skills with synchronized drills to music. Fifth grader, Austin Henley, topped off the performance with a thrilling three-point shot, bringing the crowd to their feet with shouts and a roar of applause. KSU’s Owls went on to win the game against Stetson University 72-67.

Chalker Elementary opened in 1997 and is celebrating its 10th anniversary throughout the school year. The school is located on North Booth Road in Kennesaw and named for Luther Cleveland Chalker, lifelong resident and former mayor of Kennesaw.

Island School Dribblers to perform at PTO Lemonade Stand on March 30
The smooth moves of The Island School Dribblers will be featured on Wednesday, March 30 at 4:30 PM, while The Island School’s PTO runs lemonade stand to raise money for the school.
Dribbler’s coordinator Anna Boney put the group together within the last two years, and they have performed at the Strawberry Festival and other venues. Some of the athletes are also involved in the YMCA basketball program as well.
All money raised by The Island School PTO goes to school activities and projects. Boney is also the president of the PTO.
