OUR FOUNDER &

#1 SPINNER

Anna Boney is the founder of Halftime Hoopers™. Dribbling and spinning basketballs has been a pastime of hers since she joined the inaugural Samford “Bullpups” Team the summer before her 3rd grade year. To join the team, she had to be able to spin the ball on her finger for 30 seconds. Of course, she did it and the rest is history.

The Bullpups performed at all of Samford’s home game halftimes as well as local high school halftimes and one year, the State Championship. They wore matching outfits all the way down to their red high top Converse™ shoes. The highlight of every season was performing at the Atlanta Hawks halftime.

Her time as a Bullpup fueled her passion for teaching basketball skills to other kids. She grew up and became a teacher in the classroom and on the court. Her love for the dribbling team led her to start one which led to another and another. Check out our Origin Story to find out more about Anna’s journey that led her to Halftime Hoopers™.

After starting up dribbling teams across three states over the past eighteen years, Anna and her family are ready to bring Halftime Hoopers™ to schools in Birmingham, AL and the surrounding communities. Their goal is to spread this positive program that unites communities and supports their youth.
